Changemakers Conference

The Changemakers Conference: Not content with merely providing a platform to think about and analyse problems and issues that we, as a community face today, and realizing the existence of a ideological lacuna in its structure that questioned its fundamental objective of provoking change for the better, the members of The Debate Club, led by Nitin Jayakrishnan, in 2011 came up with the conceptualization of the Changemakers Conference.

Through the Changemakers Conference, again an event without a precedent, The Club and its members aim at putting all the thought, inquiry, analysis, assimilation and comprehension that The Bait inspired, into action, proving that inspiration does, indeed work!

The Changemakers Conference is a unique opportunity for youngsters who aspire to change the different facets of society, today, to debate and elucidate why, the problem that they they present is the most pressing, and also to come up with a practical solution to the problem. This conference will be a stratified event of elimination, an effort to identify one problem, one solution and the one student who has the passion, drive, initiative and creativity to solve it. This will be judged by a 30 member panel consisting of people from various walks of life corporate giants, NGOs, doctors, engineers, scientists, policy-makers, IAS officers, educationists and other intellectuals. The best idea will, then, be chosen and with the monetary backing of corporate entities, intellectual backing of professionals, and the experience of policy-makers and activists, will be put to use to solve the problem. The one student will be given all the support required, along with a team of fellow students, to carry out the project.

In the lines of Yashaswini Rajeshwar, External Chair, Corporate Affairs, Change is the one constant in the world today, with the advent of technology and the rate of development world over.
