Changemakers Conference
Round 1 - Are we in the age of stupid?
This round is open to all invitees. Participants will be given an over-arching topic and asked
to present their views on this in any form, be it in audio CD, video clip, essay or poster. These forms
of media must be sent in to us by the stipulated date. Individuals from The Debate Club will then
analyze and judge the entries and begin the process of elimination.
Round 2
The top 50 entries will be chosen and split into groups. Participants will then be called in
accordingly for a group discussion. This discussion will, of course, be carefully moderated by
members of The Debate Club.
Round 3
The best 25 participants will be chosen and called in for a personal interview against a
panel of interviewers. Here, the participants will face the panel to explain why they believe they
are the best changemaker in the room. The more convincing they are, the better chance they
stand.
Round 4 - The Finals
From the 25 interviewees, the best five will be chosen for the finals on the second day of
The Bait '11. These five finalists will face a 30-member panel comprising of leaders from various
fields ranging from media to sport, from cinema to politics. This panel will pose questions, demand
answers and analyze the feasibility of the candidate's solution. At the end of this session, one
changemaker will be chosen.
The Winner
The winner will be the 'Chosen One' of sorts as s/he is entitled to complete sponsorship to
implement the solution, media publicity as well as technical expertise as necessary. The members
of The Debate Club and primarily the organizers of The Bait '11 will be ready at hand to provide
manpower to execute the solution. The prize money will not, however, be available for the
personal use of the winner and organizers of The Bait '11 will ensure that it is used only for the
implementation of the proposed solution
